Liam Barry

Board Member

Liam Barry holds the position of economic development officer in Ballymun with Dublin City Council, a challenging yet rewarding role. He plays an active part in the council’s commitment to the continued economic regeneration of the area, with recent success stories including the establishment of Decathlon, Lidl, and Aspen Student Life, among others. Barry is particularly interested in start-ups and small businesses, and is the founder and organizer of StartUp Ballymun. He is a strong advocate for the power of networking and established the Ballymun 4 Business Network in 2016. Barry is passionate about creating job opportunities in Ballymun and is currently working on establishing a food hub for small food businesses in the area.

As Manager of the Ballymun Job Centre, he provides job training and employment services to local residents. With his research expertise, Mick has co-authored reports on unemployment and employer attitudes towards hiring.
