Another approach to environing alternative futures is the three horizon models which encourages us to compare our existing ways of seeing our situation.
H1 – our present intractable situation which we know cannot persist.
H2 – Possible innovations coming from an intermediate space and tension between the polarities of H1 and H3.
H3 – Emerging ideas or activities, perhaps radical at present, but might have the potential to shift the mindset in Horizon I.
